The Degenerative Conditions Project was founded by Spencer E. Adler, Esq, of NYC, with essential input from Laura Deming, Celine Halioua, and James Peyer, all of whom are professionals in the space. Laura and Celine work together on the Longevity Fund - the seed and series A venture fund that Laura founded. James is the founder of the Europe-based Apollo Fund.
Adler backed the first incubator for synthetic biology companies (Launchpad on NASA’s Ames campus), co-founded the first dedicated engineered DNA venture investment fund (Bioeconomy Capital), and provided the first funds for what became the Human Genome Project 2 (HGP - Write). Since these activities, he has focused his interest in biology on applications in human health, and The Degenerative Conditions Project was born.
